The Oakland Raiders signed first-round pick Rolando McClain to a contract late Wednesday night, hours before the start of their first training camp practice. McClain, the eighth overall pick in April’s draft, is just the third first-round pick to sign a contract and the highest overall pick to do so.

NFL adds harsher language on concussions (AP)
The NFL will distribute a new poster to teams that warns of the dangers of concussions in much harsher language than before. Traumatic brain injury “may lead to problems with memory and communication, personality changes, as well as depression and the early onset of dementia,” the document reads.
